Justin Gaddy’s pass to Brad
McMahon for the winning goal in
Saturday night’s 3-2 Arkansas
victory over Clemson in the ACHA
D3 South Regional earned the
Razorbacks a 987-mile trip from
Fayetteville to the D3 National
Tournament in Estero, Fla., from
March 10- March 13, 2010.
Arkansas struck first in the
game. Taylor Shea scored at 2:21
of the first period with an
assist from Johnny Stromp. But
Clemson countered with two goals
of its own 2:03 apart midway
through the period. First Dave
Werner scored, then Adam McKay.
Advantage Tigers, 2-1. This has
been the first time in the past
that the Hogs had trailed a D-3
Team this season. This was an
unusual position for the
Razorbacks who have scored early
and often all season.
As the Hogs trailed in the
second Period, they were on the
power play and Billy Dolan
brought Arkansas even at 2 aside
when he rapped home a sweet
goalmouth pass from Easton
Oliver 3:55 into the second
period. The rest of the period
remained a defensive struggle as
both teams fought intensely to
get shots on goal.
In the 3rd, with the Hogs and
Tigers deadlocked at 2 and
Clemson’s Loren Dell’oso in the
penalty box, Justin Gaddy got
his stick on the puck behind the
Clemson goal line and backhanded
it to McMahon, who had planted
himself just outside the Clemson
crease. McMahon, the Razorbacks’
leading scorer, took the pass
and swept the puck past goalie
Constantine Kalonaros in one
motion. The rest of the game was
tightly contested and the
Razorbacks hung on for the 3-2
victory and the trip to the
National Championship in Estero
( Fort Myers) Florida.
Before the Razorbacks compete in
the National Championship, they
will be playing for the SEC
title on Saturday Night back in
Pelham, Alabama. Please root for
the Razorbacks on as they go for
their first SEC Championship. If
the Razorbacks win their first
game, the Championship will be
shown on Internet TV. The Links
will be listed on the site later
this week as we get more
information.

Feb 12, 2010 - ACHA Final
Rankings
Congratulations to your Arkansas
Razorback Hockey Team.
The
Hogs are currently riding a 17
game win streak and are 22-4
overall this season. The Final
ACHA Division 3 ranking came out
today and the Razorbacks
maintained their #4 ranking in
the ACHA Southern Division and
have qualified for the Regional
Tournament in Pelham, Alabama
next weekend, February 19-20th.
The Hogs are also Undefeated in
SEC play and will be trying to
win their First SEC Title the
weekend of Feb 26-28. This
tournament will also be played
in Pelham, Alabama.
The team will be driving to
Alabama both Weekends, and if
they qualify for Nationals they
will fly to Fort Myers Florida
March 10 - 13th. The team pays
for its own expenses and is
currently looking for any and
all donations to help fund their
trips to these 3 great
tournaments representing the
University of Arkansas. If you
are interested in making any
donations to help the team rent
a bus or vans to Alabama, or
help them defer any of these
costs, please contact the Club
President Garrett Meier at
gmeier@uark.edu, or phone him at
214-707-8533. Your help and
support is appreciated.
To get prepared for these
upcoming tournaments, the
Razorbacks have been invited by
the division 2 Missouri State
University Hockey Club Maroon
Team to play 2 additional games
this weekend in Springfield. The
Razorbacks look to keep their
winning streak in tack and play
a strong club prior to
Regional's. Thanks to the
Missouri State Hockey program
for inviting the Hogs to play
these games and prepare for next
weekend.

Friday
February 5th U of Arkansas at U
of Texas at Chaparral ice rink
in Austin
U of A - 4 UT
- 0
University of Arkansas Goalie
Brendan Desjardins had another
stellar night turning back 21
University of Texas shots on his
way to another Razorback
Shutout. Justin McDowell opened
the scoring by burying a one
timer on a great pass into the
shot by Rob Scott with another
assist by Easton Oliver. Johnny
Stromp added the second goal
from a nice feed from Taylor
Shea and Billy Dolan. The speedy
Dolan also answered with the 3rd
goal, a shorthanded effort
assisted by Shea, and Easton
Oliver finished the scoring with
a strong slap shot from the
point on passes from Brad
McMahon, and Taylor Boykin. The
Hogs have now won 16 straight
games in a row and look to
extend their winning streak with
game 2 on Saturday against the
Longhorns.
Saturday
February 6th U of Arkansas at U
of Texas at Chaparral ice rink
in Austin
U of A - 6 UT
- 4
University of Texas came to play
in game 2 of the 2 game set.
University of Arkansas started
the scoring .49 seconds into the
game when Taylor Shea received a
pass down low from Johnny Stromp
and Billy Dolan and banked a
shot from a tough angle off the
side of the goalies skates and
into the goal for a 1-0 Hog
Lead. .20 seconds later UT tied
the score when the Hogs could
not clear the puck in front of
their net and Alec Helman buried
the puck in the Hogs net. Shea
netted his second goal of the
game when he stole the puck
shorthanded and put it past
goalie Aaron Levy. Hogs made it
3-1 when Brad McMahon shot a low
wrister past Levy with a lot of
traffic in front of the net.
Assists by Johnny Stromp and
Easton Oliver. At that point
Levy was pulled and Landon Cain
replaced him between the pipes.
This is when the tides turned.
UT scored 2 unanswered goals by
Zach Royer, and Cam McDonald on
rebounds in front of Marcus
Parsons to tie the score at 3.
The Hogs didn’t lie down as Brad
McMahon netted his second on a
slap shot from the right circle
to make it 4-3, and Taylor Shea
got his hat trick on a great
slap shot over the shoulder of
Cain to make it 5-3. The
Longhorns got back on the score
sheet with the 2nd goal by Royer
to make it 5-4 Hogs with 8
minutes to go in the game.
Taylor Baranowski closed the
scoring of the game at the 7:57
mark on 2 nice passes from
McMahon and Justin Gaddy.
Baranowski faked the Cain with a
slap shot between the hash marks
and buried a wrister in the back
of the Horns net to make it 6-4
and the final. University of
Arkansas has now won 16 straight
games, and looks to be heading
to the Division 3 Regional's in
2 weeks as they are currently
Ranked 4th in the Southern
Division. They also stand a top
of the SEC Hockey Conference
with a 9-0 League record and
look to add to their seasons
success
01/20/10- Hogs Push Streak to
Thirteen Wins in a Row
The
Razorbacks traveled to
Springfield, Missouri, this past
weekend, where they swept
Division II Missouri State by
defeating them 6-4 on Friday
night and 5-2 on Saturday. The
wins were particularly
satisfying given that Missouri
had twice defeated the Hogs in
two home contests earlier in the
season. This weekend, the Hogs —
now 18-4-0 on the season — look
to continue their winning ways
when they take on the Tulane
Green Wave in their final two
home contests of the season.
Face-off is at 7:30pm on both
Friday and Saturday nights at
the Jones Center and general
admission tickets are just
$5.00.
**The Razorback Hockey game
scheduled for December 12th at
7:30 pm has been cancelled.
We're sorry for any
inconvenience.
Hogs Tame the Tide
-
11/2/09
The Arkansas Razorbacks hosted
the previously unbeaten Alabama
Crimson Tide this weekend in
Springdale. The Hogs manhandled
the Tide in Game 1 with a
dominating 10-4 victory. Things
were a little closer on
Saturday, but Arkansas was able
to hold onto a 3-0 shutout
effort. The Hogs record is now
11-4 overall and 4-0 in
conference play. Arkansas will
continue to prepare for their
lone game against the Georgia
Bulldogs this weekend at the
Jones Center in Springdale.
Hogs Finally Crack the Top 10
-
10/23/09
The Arkansas Razorbacks hockey
team boasts the Southern
Conference’s best record with a
total of 14 points and are
second to only Lake Superior
State University in all of
Division 3. The first rankings
were released on Friday morning,
with the Hogs ranked #9 in the
Southern Conference. This marks
the first time that Arkansas has
been voted into the top 10 in
team history. This weekend, the
team will bring its’
newly-acquired #9 ranking on the
road against Robert Morris
University. Robert Morris will
be the 6th Division 2 team that
Arkansas has already played this
season.

Razorbacks flex muscles in home
opening series -
9/30/09
The Hogs were back in action
the past weekend for their home
opener series against division 2
opponent University of Texas-
Arlington Mavericks. The
Razorbacks wasted no time
getting on the board Friday
night scoring early and scoring
often. With key goals from
multiple freshmen they downed
the Mavericks 10-3. The home
team got off to a sluggish start
on Saturday night trailing 1-0
after the first period. It
didn’t take them long to find
traction in the second period
scoring 6 goals going on sweep
the series winning 12-1.
Freshmen Taylor Shea, Justin
McDowell , and Sophomore Jacob
Larison all notched two goals
apiece in the victory.
Razorbacks split with Kansas to
open season -
9/30/09
The Hogs got the 2009-2010
season underway last weekend
with a trip to Kansas City to
take on the division 2 Kansas
Jayhawks. The travel weary got
off to a slow start and trailed
at the end of the first period
4-1. The hogs played much better
the next two periods out
shooting the Jayhawks 36-15 but
were unable to put the puck in
the net and dropped the season
opener 4-1. The next day the
razorback players and fans had a
similar feeling Saturday going
into the locker room after the
first period trailing 3-1.
History would not repeat itself
though with the hogs coming out
like a bolt of lightning in the
second period ignited by a
beautiful goal from the slot by
freshman defenseman Easton
Oliver in the first 3 minutes.
The razorbacks never looked back
scoring four times in the second
and going on to win 7-5.

Changes Coming for Razorbacks
-
3/19/09
The
Arkansas Razorbacks would like
to announce that former coach,
Patrick Forseth, has accepted
the head coaching position for
the Tulsa Rampage junior
program. The Razorbacks would
like to thank Forseth for all of
his dedication and wish him the
best of luck. The Razorbacks
have begun their search to fill
the head coaching vacancy.
Struggles Continue for Arkansas
The
Razorbacks offensive struggles
continued throughout the second
half of the season. The team
dropped games against University
of Louisiana of Lafayette,
Alabama and Georgia as the
season came to an end. The Hogs
finished in 6th place in the
SEC. The upcoming off-season
will feature high-quality
recruitment as well as continued
involvement within the
community. The Razorbacks would
like to thank everyone for their
continued support throughout the
season.
Razorbacks Split in SEC
Matchups
Arkansas traveled to Pelham,
Alabama to take on SEC West
opponents Vanderbilt and
Alabama. The Hogs started off
sluggish against the Commodores
early Friday night, but senior
captain Michael Bugbee opened
the Hogs' scoring early in the
second which led to an onslaught
of goals from the Razorbacks.
Sophomore defenseman BJ Kellagher recorded his first hat
trick of the season in the 7-4
victory. Arkansas took on the
Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday
night, scoring the first goal of
the game midway through the
first period. However, Alabama
used multiple power plays
throughout the second and third
periods to hand Arkansas its'
first SEC loss of the season.
Arkansas Continues Its' Tear
Through the SEC
The Razorbacks dismantled the
LSU Tigers on Friday night 14-1,
led by hat tricks from three
different Razorbacks. Senior
captain Michael Bugbee, freshmen
Jacob Larison and Justin Gaddy
all tallied three goals each.
The Hogs struggled early on
Saturday night, but went on to
sweep the Tigers with a 4-1
victory. Arkansas will travel to
Alabama next week to take on
Vanderbilt and Alabama.
